Survey - CAD Technician

Work Location: AGM Surveying and Engineering Ltd., London, Ontario, Canada.

Archibald Gray and McKay, is looking for an experienced CAD Technician for our growing subdivision and condominium division.

Job Summary:

As part of the Survey Team, the CAD Technician is responsible developing survey plans using Civil 3D 2008 to 2011. The CAD Technician is also responsible for ensuring CAD standards and procedures are followed throughout the design process (i.e. filing, document numbering, and layering conventions for all drawings).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  - Develope survey plans using Civil 3D 2008-2011;
     
  - Assist in ensuring all project drawings are accurate and updated;
     
  - Assist in the preparation and compilation of all data and documents related to Subdivision plans, condo plans, construction surveys, lot grading plans and Survey Real Property Reports;
     
  - Ensure CAD standards and procedures throughout the design process also to include filing, document numbering, and layering conventions for all drawings;
     
  - Protect and promote the interest of this company in all matters and to take actions as required to satisfy such responsibilities;
     
  - Perform other duties as assigned;
     
  - Manage your time to complete the projects in accordance with regulatory and client deadlines;
     
  - Support GIS development and implementation

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:

  - 3 to 5 years experience in a CAD Technician role or similar experience;
     
  - Post secondary education with a concentration in surveying/engineering preferred;
     
  - Experience with MS Office Suite, Civil 3D, data bases and custom software applications
     
  - Familiarity with Municipal zoning by-laws;
     
  - Ability to read and understand Survey plans , Architectural and engineering specifications;
     
  - Any field knowledge would be an asset.
     
  - Willingness to work in a team and an individual environment;
     
  - Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properly.
